Alisa is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a decade of pediatric clinical experience. She received her B.S in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Boston University and her M.S in Speech Language Pathology from New York University. She obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a certified Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
Alisa has established her career through varied placements in schools, private practices, intensive clinics, and client homes. She is Hanen certified and PROMPT trained. She supports her expertise in complex feeding, swallowing, and challenging articulation cases through cutting edge continued education from some of the leaders in the field of pediatric speech therapy. She most recently completed her training as an Orofacial Myologist through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
Alisa also specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), having worked at various schools and outpatient clinics with children with complex medical diagnoses and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). She has taken various courses with thought leaders in AAC and has experience with devices containing TouchChat, Saltillo, PRC/Unity, Tobii Dynavox, etc. Alisa conducts trials for low, mid, and high tech systems, and works with families and other providers to ensure that children have access to communication throughout all of their daily activities.
Alisa strives to make each speech therapy session motivating, engaging, and effective through an approach that combines family values, evidenced based practice, and learning style. She believes that learning is an ongoing and dynamic process, and that her clients are her best teachers. Alisa believes in a holistic approach that includes parents, caregivers, specialists, and educators working together to maximize potential.
